Description
In this present instance, ESPO is working on behalf of Leicestershire County Council (LCC) to undertake a procurement process to identify and appoint a single Contractor able to carry out an Extensive Urban Survey. The project will be carried out as part of a national programme of surveys of the archaeology, historic buildings and landscape and of England’s historic towns and cities. The project of Leicestershire and Rutland Extensive Urban Survey (EUS) is an initiative led by the Historic England (HE). Its key aim is to evaluate and characterise the urban historic environment within the study area and to provide comprehensive and consistent base-line information against which land use planning, regeneration and research objectives may be set. The Project will comprise two phases, commencing with an initial Pilot targeting North West Leicestershire District followed by the Main phase addressing the rest of the county and Rutland.
