Description

Milton Keynes Council is seeking to secure a supplier or consortium to explore the development and deployment of these new technologies related specifically to electric vehicle charging infrastructure and home energy management starting mid 2019 and expected to run for a period of between 1 -3 Years. To progress this, Milton Keynes Council is initially seeking Expressions of Interest from suppliers who would be interested in attending a supplier engagement session to explore the preferred delivery method for three Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Innovation work streams. The Work streams are: 1. Developing and demonstrating innovative public charging systems which can be used by residents who do not have access to off-street parking. (This will need to look beyond current capabilities and either develop new concepts/products and/or address shortcoming of the current offer) 2. Exploring and installing wireless charging systems for use by taxis and private cars 3. Developing and demonstrating smart domestic power systems which can provide active balancing of electricity distribution networks, in response to the growing number of electric vehicles. The work streams are expected to interact (potentially be combined) and are likely to use the same demonstration street/area and respond to a specific challenge (s) or outcome(s) the council wishes to achieve. The Council will undertake Supplier Engagement sessions with interested parties to investigate the delivery options that are available in the current market.
