Description
This expenditure relates to the comprehensive investigation of the connectivity and functionality of active equipment installed in the 28 x racks installed at Lower Marsh, Waterloo. This will include the investigation and documentation of equipment type, connectivity, stability, appropriateness and power and cabinet location and connections and support status etc. The task also includes the identification of individual application workloads that can be feasibly migrated across to Primary Datacentre Cody Park or Azure Public Cloud and in doing so identify the right approach, for the right workloads, along with the right commercials. We will initiate a decommissioning and relocation plan as appropriate, along with any required approach for workload transformation. This procurement addresses our strategic requirement to address issues with the consolidation of NEL's data centre estate, of which Lower Marsh is currently a key component. This procurement ensures continuation of services while being fully aligned to the strategic roadmap and the wider NEL ICT Transformation programme.
