Volunteer-Led Family Support & Respite Service

Knowsley seek to commission a service to deliver a range of support interventions, through the use of volunteers, to combat some of these negative outcomes. As a minimum, this service should provide: 1. Hosting for children in a volunteer's home - short, safe hosting for one or more children from an individual family to provide respite and support to both the parents and children. 2. Befriending - volunteer mentors to provide emotional and practical support to families to help affect positive change and address issues associated with parental isolation, mental health issues and parenting capacity. • 3. Resource support - support in the form of practical help (cleaning, gardening, etc.) as well as practical resources (e.g., clothing, furniture) that the family may need.
