It will be a new employer-led training facility for the Black Country designed to improve productivity and growth in the high value manufacturing sector, one of the five transformational sectors for the Black Country, with particular emphasis on the aerospace, motor vehicle and construction sectors. The centre will provide training in: - Toolmaking; - Foundry; - Metalforming and Forging; - Metal treatment - Advanced CNC. - Manufacturing Management & Leadership + Project Management. These skills underpin HVM manufacturing performance, productivity and growth. The ECMS will be created through Skills Capital Investment by government and the Black Country LEP, opening planned August 2017. The TPPC will be manufactured, supplied and installed in the Confederation of British Metalforming (CBM) Training workshop to a standard that will enable high volume mass production. The objective of the TPPC is to demonstrate its capabilities and versatility in pressing sheet metal components from various presswork processes on supplied unique tooling. The TPPC is to be controlled and managed by the workshop Technicians who will train apprentices in setting and working the cell in different aspects of making pressings.
