Description
This contract is to support the Summer 2016 Love Your Local Market Campaign. The objectives of the Summer 2016 Campaign are as follows: a) To strengthen the role of markets as part of the local retail offer and develop greater awareness amongst local communities of the local market. b) To provide a gateway to retail entrepreneurs to join a local market and test their ideas, thereby creating new businesses. This will be in line with the Mary Portas ‘stalls for a tenner’ proposal and will include free or subsidised stalls and support from market managers. c) To support the creation of new markets and to help new traders set up new businesses and current traders to develop existing businesses. d) To identify evidence of the contribution made by markets by identifying footfall and economic impact. e) To secure alternative funding to support future LYLM Campaigns. The key performance measures of the Summer Campaign will be: a) The participation of no less than 3,800 market events run in 1,200 places. b) No fewer than 3,500 subsidised stalls made available to new traders. c) Alternative funding secured to ensure that the LYLM Campaigns continue after 31st March 2016.
