To allow additional suitably qualified GP Practices to deliver NHS Health Checks on behalf of Bedford Borough Council and Central Bedfordshire Council . The NHS Health Check service is for adults in England between the ages of 40 to 74 years. It checks circulatory and vascular health and the risk of getting a disabling vascular disease. Under the Health and Social Care Act 2012, local authorities have a legal responsibility to commission and monitor their local health check programme.
