Description
he Authority's WGCC physiological research programme has a requirement to understand the propensity of women to stress fractures and impaired bone health through occupational exposure. Bone is a complex tissue, and appropriate assessment of its strength requires measurement of architecture and porosity of bone tissue at the microscopic level, differentiating between different types (spongy and dense) of bone at clinically relevant sites (i.e. tibia or shin bone). Therefore, there is a requirement for a solution that provides appropriate bone imaging capability in accordance with the detailed requirements below.
