Description
The contract covers the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a replacement pit pumping system at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton.
The scope includes the removal and disposal of existing pumping infrastructure and the installation of two submersible Flyte pump units (approximately 3.1kW), together with associated mechanical components including stainless steel guide rails, brackets, lifting chains, and discharge connections.
Pre-construction activities comprise site verification, dimensional checks, and preparation of technical designs and submittals. The contractor is responsible for procurement, quality assurance, and delivery of equipment. Installation works will be undertaken in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015 and include confined space procedures, isolation works, and system reinstatement.
Testing and commissioning activities include operational testing, performance verification, and joint commissioning with the client. Electrical disconnection and reconnection will be undertaken by others unless otherwise agreed.
The project is intended to improve system reliability, reduce maintenance requirements, and replace obsolete components within the existing infrastructure.
