Description

Seaton Valley Council is undertaking a strategic transition from traditional annual bedding schemes to perennial, sustainable planting across its public spaces. This initiative aims to: - Enhance long-term value by reducing the need for seasonal replanting & associated costs. - Support biodiversity through pollinator-friendly species and varied planting structures. - Reduce waste by minimising plant turnover and promoting compostable materials. - Improve climate resilience with drought-tolerant, low-maintenance species adapted to changing conditions. The new planting approach will prioritise native and perennial species, eco-conscious maintenance practices, and multi-sensory designs that evolve naturally throughout the seasons. Contractors and suppliers are encouraged to align proposals with these sustainability goals and demonstrate innovation in ecological landscaping. All materials must be of high quality and suitable for public display. Submissions will be scored based on (not in priority order): Price: Overall cost-effectiveness, including value for money and transparency of pricing. Quality: Proven quality of plants, materials, and workmanship. Design: Visual appeal, creativity, colour coordination, and enhancement of spaces. Environment: Eco-friendly practices, peat-free compost, and pollinator-friendly species. Experience: Previous experience and proven track record in similar projects with references. Maintenance: Clarity and reliability of maintenance schedule, responsiveness to issues. Communication: Ability to liaise with council officers and provide updates or reports. Safety: Evidence of risk assessments, insurance, and safe working practices. Timeline: Realistic and achievable schedule for planting and maintenance. Clarity: Submission is concise, well-structured, and avoids excessive wordiness. Deadline for submissions: Midnight on Sunday 16th November 2025. Internal review: Week commencing 17th November 2025. Final decision: Wednesday, 21st January 2025. Start date for project: 01 April 2026. Completion date: 31 March 2028. PLEASE NOTE: Contract Value is negotiable and not intended to reflect the total cost of years one and two.

In Surrey our vision is for every adult and child experiencing domestic abuse to be seen, safe and heard, and free from the harm caused by perpetrator behaviour. \n The work we undertake will drive all action against domestic abuse in the County. It will influence change and secure the commitment of all to prevent harm, which devastates victims' lives, no matter how old they are, and has a disproportionate effect on the lives of young people. Surrey's ambition is 'no one is left behind' and domestic abuse services play a key role in achieving this ambition. \n \n We want to achieve the priorities in our Support in Safe Accommodation Strategy, which include:
