Description
Leicester City Council is seeking supplier(s) of nursery stock trees suitable for planting in urban open spaces and on the highway. This will fulfil the Council's commitment to carry out ongoing replacement planting and, in some instances, to undertake schemes of new planting. Planting sites will be varied, ranging from formal or ornamental to informal, and from high to low visitor/use pressure. As such there will be a requirement for ornamentals and exotics, as well as native species. The successful supplier(s) will be able to supply and deliver a variety of production types, species and sizes although the main demand will be for advanced nursery standards, typically container grown, and 16-18mm stem size. Supply will be on an "as required" basis. Demand will vary from year to year so there will be no fixed expenditure over the period of the contract. Orders may be made from up to several seasons in advance, down to shorter notice requests for delivery within several weeks. The supplier(s) must be able to source stock types requested by the Authority, should this become necessary. The supplier(s) must also be able to deliver stock, maintaining it in good condition, to the Council's depot. The proposed contract will be for 2 years with the option to extend for up to two years. We anticipate awarding to multiple suppliers.
