Description
The Chemistry department is engaged in a broad range of synthetic chemistry and materials chemistry that either currently makes use of or could in future make use of single-crystal X-ray diffraction for crystal structure determination and seeks to upgrade current X-ray diffraction capabilities. Compounds studied include organic compounds, coordination compounds, including metal-organic frameworks, and organometallic compounds. All instrument configurations should be suitable to house existing Oxford Cryostream 700 series cryostats (to be provided by University of Sheffield). Diffractometer control PC should be configuration tested and typically comprise a tower PC with minimum i7 (10th gen) CPU, 2 x 2TB solid state hard drives, 16 GB RAM with bays to enable additional RAM to be added, 27" monitor (+ 2nd monitor in enclosure) or equivalent(s).
