Description
Winter fuel pressures refers to the increased demand and financial strain on households to keep their homes warm during the colder months. This is particularly challenging for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, low-income families, and those with disabilities. The need for adequate heating during winter can lead to higher energy bills, which many households struggle to afford. As a response to this, Surrey County Council has launched its Fuel Poverty Programme which aims to tackle fuel poverty and ensure that our residents have access to support services and the necessary energy efficiency measures to live in a warm and comfortable home. SCC's Fuel Poverty Programme take's a coordinated system wide approach, supported by a range of partners and projects, to prevent further increase of households entering fuel poverty. Interventions include: - Our Warm Welcome Scheme - Surrey Crisis Fund - Surrey Community Action Warmth Matters - Digital Welfare Project - Care Leaver Energy Support Programme To complement the above programmes, SCC is also launching a Slow Cooker Course, which is the subject of this specification.
