Description
The Dearne Area Council wishes to commission a provider to deliver a service that will complement existing environmental service provision, including enforcement and the work currently carried out by local volunteers to improve the overall environmental appearance of the Dearne North and Dearne South wards of Barnsley. The service will have three specific elements, working with local people / volunteers, groups, businesses and services in order to increase volunteering to sustain the maintenance of local areas. The service should also maintain areas of blight that are identified through the various mechanisms that will be established by the provider and Dearne Area Council. Finally the third element is the education of groups and young people in relation to the environmental, economic and health impact of littering. The contract will initially be for a period of 12 months, with potential for extending for a further 1 year. The estimated annual cost of this procurement is £75.000 in total. The total potential contract value including extensions is £150,000
