The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), through its centre/survey the National Ocenaographic Centre (NOC), invites tenders for the supply of Satellite Communication System upgrade The Fleet broadband service needs to be operated in conjunction with the primary system to be capable of dealing with the amount of data and email requirements expected for even a basic business internet service. Additional FBB bandwidth has become essential to ship operation and the sighting of the satellite receiver for complete 360 degree coverage has become an issue. The current system is blocked by ships superstructure and by the other receivers in the vicinity. A solution is required to integrate a second antenna and automatically changeover between the two so as to obtain continuous coverage.
