Description
BTP is seeking appoint a Supplier to perform an essential and extensive review of its data architecture and provide recommendations on how to achieve a fit for purpose enterprise architecture that will support the organisation's growing reporting demands, all of the Data, Applications and Technology functions provided to the wider organisation in line with its future data ambition and core data strategy. Currently there are several core data sources with many running on different technology systems, resulting in the data being stored in fragmented databases and making it difficult to link information from various systems. This hinders analysis and the ability to answer straight forward questions in an efficient and accurate way. BTP does not currently have one data layer and nor does it have a data map of the various data sets across the organisation and how the data flows to enable insightful reporting. For example, to identify police officer productivity, it requires joining HR, incident and crime data together within both time and space. Currently this data exists on three separate systems (origin, control works and niche) which are not aligned or integrated. With the correct infrastructure this should be seamless.
