Description
UK Biobank requires a provider that can offer a managed service to support the receipt, storage, management, and distribution of its scientific data; these requirements go beyond those for a conventional managed storage service or storage infrastructure provision. UK Biobank may, in its reasonable discretion, determine to award up to 2 contracts to the two highest scoring bidders. For the avoidance of doubt, the contracts will cover the same scope of supplies and services and will be on identical terms (save in relation to incorporating proposals around access arrangements to researchers) because UK Biobank may consider it advantageous to [ensure it has data stored in two places]. However, and for the avoidance of doubt, UK Biobank may determine in its reasonable discretion to award a contract to only one bidder. The initial contract term will be 2 years. However, UK Biobank intends this to be a long term research data storage solution, so the intention will be to extend this contract beyond this 2 year term, for further 2 year periods up to a total of 10 years. The procurement documents are available for unrestricted and full direct access, free of charge at: https://www.mytenders.co.uk/ Additional information can be obtained from the tenders@ukbiobank.ac.uk Tenders or requests to participate must be sent electronically to: https://www.mytenders.co.uk/
