Description

The London Borough of Hillingdon (Hillingdon) manages imported food and feed controls at London Heathrow Airport's Imported Food Office (IFO). They oversee import controls on nonanimal origin products and fishery products, and issue export certifications for various products leaving the UK. Legislation mandates that Products of Animal Origin (POAO) enter the UK only through approved Border Control Posts (BCP). The BCP at Heathrow is approved for both human and non-human consumption products, handling items such like fishery products, meat, honey, blood products and hunting trophies. Hillingdon seeked an Official Veterinary Surgeons (OVS) provider to monitor BCP operations and conduct veterinary checks on POAO. The OVS must be members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and will work exclusively at the IFO, also assisting with export certification when needed. The inspections of the two products is required at BCP facilities at Heathrow: • Eurobip - Unit 2, X2, Eastern Perimeter Road, TW6 2GE • Heathrow Perishable Centre - Building 588 Sandringham Road, TW6 3SF The Contract is for an initial term of three (3) years with an extendable option for a period of two (2) years, giving a total of five (5) years (the Term).
