Description
\r The Grange school site is located in the Warmley area of South Gloucestershire Council on the Eastern fringe of Bristol. The site off Tower Rd North borders the A4174 to the west with Deanery Rd roundabout and the A4209 to the North. To the south the site is surrounded by housing, whilst access is via an entry road bridge to the east where Warmely Brook and Siston Brook directly run alongside.\r \r The existing bridge into the school site carries an unadopted road across Warmley Brook. It is thought that the bridge was constructed at the same time as the school sometime in the 1960's.\r \r The bridge is the primary access route into and out of the site and with the proposed wider redevelopment of the site which is to include a new school and sports facilities together with a new residential development of up to 200 homes the current structure has been deemed unsuitable and is to be replaced.\r \r Once the bridge and the highway over it has been replaced it is intended to be offered for adoption to South Gloucestershire Council.\r \r The Council is seeking a turnkey contractor who is able to design, plan, construct, supply and install a new permanent bridge together with a temporary pedestrian bridge (during the period when the existing bridge is being demolished and the new one installed).\r \r The Contractor will both be Principal Contractor and principal Designer under the CDM 2015 regulations. The Client will be South Gloucestershire Council Property Services.\r \r As part of this contract the Contractor will also be responsible for:- \r • undertaking ground condition, geotechnical, ecological and topographical surveys.\r • Liaising with and obtaining all necessary permits, licences and consents\r • Liaising with the Highway Designers to ensure designs tie into the highway layout\r • Preparing and submitting the necessary planning applications and obtaining the necessary planning consent to undertake the necessary works\r • Undertaking the demolition of the existing bridge \r \r \r
