Description
Aston University is undertaking a flat roof replacement project for its Main Building, funded through the Salix Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (Phase 4). The existing roof is aged, leaking, and no longer fit for purpose. This is a critical project because water ingress poses a significant risk to teaching spaces and laboratories located directly beneath the roof. To guarantee long-term performance and warranty protection, Aston University will specify a Bauder roofing system, which provides a 20-year insurance-backed warranty. This warranty is only valid if the system is installed by a Bauder-approved contractor. Therefore, the procurement process will focus on engaging contractors who are approved by Bauder and have a proven track record of delivering installations to specification. This requirement is essential for quality assurance, risk mitigation, and alignment with the University's sustainability and asset management objectives. This opportunity was delivered via a further competition issued to suppliers who expressed interest following an Expression of Interest (EOI) published through the LHC RS5 Roofing Systems & Associated Works Framework.
