Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) assessments

Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) is the legal framework used to authorise the care or treatment arrangements of an individual who lacks mental capacity to consent to their arrangements. These safeguards apply when a person is 'deprived of their liberty' in a care home or hospital. The Tender process will look to award a contract to a single supplier to undertake DoLs Best Interests Assessors, which will be conducted by qualified Best Interest Assessors, to support internal assessment provision.
