Description
Provision of emergency storage facilities and associated logistics support following an unforeseen railway incident that disrupted normal operations and storage arrangements. The incident necessitated the immediate removal and secure storage of railway materials, equipment, and associated assets to maintain safety, support recovery works, and minimise further disruption to the rail network. Due to the urgent and unforeseeable nature of the incident, there was an immediate requirement by EMR, RAIB, Network Rail and BTP to source suitable storage capacity in close proximity to an EMR location. Services include the provision of secure storage space, materials handling, access for recovery teams, and short-term logistics coordination to support ongoing railway operations and reinstatement activities. The contract was awarded under emergency circumstances where compliance with standard procurement timescales was not feasible. The selected supplier demonstrated the ability to mobilise rapidly, offer appropriately located facilities, and meet the safety, security, and operational requirements specific to railway infrastructure and asset management.
