Description
SSAMIR aims to deliver an outcome of an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable ASM sector in target locations. This will contribute to the impact of an increased contribution of the mining sector to economic growth and improving livelihoods among ASM communities. Specific results to be delivered will be agreed during the inception phase. Intended results to be delivered by 2020 include: specifically, reforming the enabling environment will deliver: • A more professional, open and transparent mining sector; • A more efficient and economically viable mining sector, in line with environmental best-practice • Increased level of private investment in the sector; • A stronger knowledge base on ASM vital for the future development of the sector.
