Description

***Modification of the Contract*** Contract Variation PS21133 001 - The contract term has been extended from 31st March 2022 to 13th May 2022. The total contract value remains unchanged. **THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION** This was made under Crown Commercial Services Research Marketplace Dynamic Purchasing System RM6018. The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is building a stronger, greener future by fighting coronavirus, tackling climate change, unleashing innovation and making the UK a great place to work and do business. More about BEIS's policy objectives and remit is available at: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/department-for-business-energy-and-industrial- strategy The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) wishes to appoint a contractor (or consortium) to perform research to examine the supply chains needed to support a UK hydrogen economy. Low carbon hydrogen will be a key enabler for the UK to meet its net zero target and the UK's Hydrogen Strategy outlines the UK Government's vision for the development of a UK hydrogen economy, with an ambition for 5GW of hydrogen production by 2030, the development of hydrogen networks and storage, and a range of possible end-users. To realise the economic opportunities that a thriving hydrogen economy holds for the UK, the Hydrogen Economy team, part of the Industrial Energy Directorate within BEIS, is looking to commission research to develop HMG's evidence base in order to improve our understanding of the supply chains needed to support a future hydrogen economy. The research project will need to combine knowledge based upon existing literature, data and analysis related to hydrogen supply chains with new research and analysis to develop our understanding of the supply chains needed to meet UK ambitions.
