Description
Camden Council's Perinatal Mental Health Community Peer Support service supports expectant and new parents with mild to moderate mental health needs during their infant's first years of life (first 1001 days). The current service provision is due to end in March 2026. The service provides peer-led emotional and practical support to address issues such as anxiety, depression, and social isolation. It centres on shared lived experience, offering validation, reducing stigma, and fostering recovery. The service is culturally responsive, aiming to overcome language and cultural barriers through a diverse network of peer supporters. It plays a crucial role in promoting maternal mental wellbeing and creating safe, inclusive spaces for open dialogue and social connection.
