Sustainability Appraisal and Appropriate Assessment

Northumberland National Park Authority invites tenders from suitably experienced consultants to undertake work, which is required for the emerging Local Plan. The Sustainability Appraisal is integral to and informs the Local Plan as it is developed. Appropriate Assessment is also an essential part of the plan-making process. The consultants will be required to review and build on work previously produced in- house and undertake further required Sustainability Appraisal (SA), incorporating the requirements of the Strategic Environmental Assessment or 'SEA' Directive, in order to accompany the timely delivery of the Local Plan and assess if sustainable development is achievable. They will also be required to review and build upon work previously produced in-house in relation to a Habitats Regulations Assessment of the Local Plan.
