NHSE(I) guidance (Sept 2021), recognises the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector as a key strategic partner with an important contribution to make in shaping, improving, and delivering services, and encourages the development of VCSE Assemblies/Alliances. The VCSE Assembly coordinates delivery of several key areas of work for the ICS that has a direct effect on elective recovery e.g. it coordinates and delivers our Waiting Well support services, it provides a wraparound service for Virtual Ward patients ensuring more patients and their carers are supported in their own home, it coordinates discharge support services across all four of our hospitals and delivers the community transport offer ensuring people can travel safely back to their homes when being discharged.
