Description
Health and care system partners in Yorkshire and Humber have identified that there is a need to develop a collaborative workforce training programme. The aims of the training programme will be to: • enable the adaptation of service models to priority groups; • develop tailored interventions to the individual needs of people who smoke particularly those in priority groups; • Very Brief Advice (VBA) that is relevant to non-clinical settings; and • provide effective first point of contact and triaging by administrative staff. It is proposed that by delivering advanced training to all health and care system partners in Yorkshire and Humber it will provide parity to communities, and offer equitable and quality interventions from each of the individually commissioned services across the Yorkshire and Humber area. The training programme will include: • Development of a suite of advanced training materials which will support the delivery of training to commissioners, managers, practitioners and administrators of stop smoking services in the Yorkshire and Humber area; • Very Brief Advice+ training for non-clinical staff; • Service adaption and intervention tailoring training courses; • Annual webinars
