Description
Following the ITT market review (Initial teacher training (ITT) market review report - GOV.UK) and government response to consultation (Government response to the initial teacher training (ITT) market review report) a number of reforms were made to ITT and the market which provides it. The new quality requirements for ITT arising from these reforms became mandatory in September 2024 and are now being implemented in all ITT courses. DfE wishes to commission an evaluation of the process, implementation and (if possible) impact of these reforms. This may involve surveys, interviews, and analysis of monitoring and admin data, but the department is also keen to receive bids involving more innovative methodologies where appropriate. This may be particularly relevant for the evaluation of the grants used to support the reforms. We require an evaluator with expertise in evaluating complex interventions focused on system change in a delivery environment with a wide range of stakeholders, which in this case will likely include ITT providers, delivery partners, placement schools and ITT trainees. We will be holding a virtual market engagement event from 14:00 - 15:00 on Thursday 16 January 2025 to provide more information and answer questions. If you would like to attend an event, please forward your email address to ITT.RESEARCH@education.gov.uk and you will be invited to the event.
