Description
The carers service is designed to meet the council's statutory obligation of providing an independent carer assessment for adult carers in Croydon supporting an adult in need (as defined by the Care Act 2014). In addition to this, the service looks to meet the eligible needs of carers to support them to continue to provide care. It also aims to promote carers' wellbeing; preventing, reducing and delaying future needs for support and provide a universal offer of support for all carers. To help carers make informed choices, to remain independent, enjoy their personal time and / or work or recreation, this service will support carers to: • Live long, healthy, happy & independent lives • Have access to information, advice and guidance • Have a carer assessment • Prevent, reduce & delay future needs for support • Have a life of their own • Have support to stay mentally and physically well • Promote their financial well-being.
