Description
Ports of Jersey are looking to revitalise and upgrade St Helier Harbours, including the current berthing infrastructure and operations. A recent review of marina operations and infrastructure has resulted in a need for regeneration and upgrade of Albert Pier. On top of Albert Pier is the existing Albert Terminal building, Ships Registry and Crew Land Quarters. The Terminal building is approximately 30 years old and due to the evolving marina usage; it has been deemed no longer fit for purpose. The current passenger terminal is a prefabricated single-story structure with the Ships registry and support crew offices being of temporary portacabin construction. It is envisaged that demolition of the Albert Terminal, Ships Registry and Crew areas, will support the need to increase the current car parking provision for harbour and marine users.
