Description
Royal Museums Greenwich (the National Maritime Museum) is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS). The Museum's estate includes a range of buildings that sit within the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage site and these include the National Maritime Museum (NMM), Queen's House (QH), Cutty Sark (CS) and Royal Observatory Greenwich (ROG). A new collections and conservation centre is based at a separate site in Kidbrooke. The buildings and their associated services are maintained to a high standard that is worthy of a leading visitor destination. Toilet provision is provided at various locations across the estate. With over 2 million visitors a year it is essential that the sites are presented to a quality standard, and that works are undertaken in a safe and sustainable manner. The RMG is committed to providing access to its collections for the greatest number of visitors and to provide the highest possible quality of displays, exhibitions and services. At RMG we recognise that environmental protection is one of the most important issues facing the world today. We're committed to working in environmentally sustainable ways, applying the principles of sustainable development for the benefit of current and future generations, both locally and globally.
