PROCUREMENT OF SPECIALIST DESIGN AND BUILD CONTRACTOR

Leeds College of Art is currently in the process of a significant building project at its Blenheim Walk campus. Currently at RIBA detailed design 4 and seeking planning approval the new building will have a GIA of approximately 6000m2 and will achieve BREEAM excellent. The intention is to create a landmark building hosting an expanded portfolio which will see the College transition into the first specialist arts university in the North of England. It is anticipated that construction of the new facility work will commence in December 2016 and will be completed by July 2018. A decision has been taken to appoint the services of a specialist sound & studio contractor with demonstrable experience of projects of this nature and scale to undertake a design and build project to design equip and fit out 3 specialist areas within the new building: • Popular music suite • Auditorium • Film studio The shell construction of the areas will be undertaken by the main contractor who is yet to be appointed. We require the successful specialist contractor to work closely with the existing project architect and design team in successfully developing and delivering these excellent new facilities. Under the current project programme the successful specialist contractor will be required to complete the fit out of these areas between June and August 2018. All works must be completed and operational by 1st September 2018.
