The PERFORMS scheme is an external quality and educational programme which all personnel who interpret breast screening images undertake twice a year. The scheme is designed to measure a Reader’s ability to identify appropriate signs of breast cancer and not recall benign conditions. It also trains individuals to improve these skills.
