Description
Surrey County Council invites tenders for the provision of a new SEND Independent Travel Training Service for children (over 11 years) with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities across the county of Surrey. An important aspect of this tender is it should be supported by a Social Impact Bond (SIB) via an investor to achieve the outcomes set by the council. The contract will be funded through a Social Impact Bond and payment will be made to the Provider only upon results. Successful payment is determined when the parents, school and Council agree the pupil is travelling independently and a taxi is no longer required. The council seeks a provider who can build strong and lasting relationships with our families, schools and partners with the express aim of enabling as many young people as possible to undertake ITT training. The council will identify annually a cohort of pupils for the provider to support where the potential transport savings can be realised. Independent Travel Training provides tailored and practical help in travelling by public transport, on foot or by bicycle for children and young people with SEND. Travel training aims to help people travel independently and without fear to education, to work, to other key services, or simply for leisure.
