Description
Cumbria County Council are engaged in a programme to design, procure and construct a specialist educational facility in Barrow in Furness. The 40 place 'Alternative Provision' Unit (APU) will accommodate pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in a secure setting that both caters for their needs and offers opportunities to enhance their growth as individuals. A Contract for the Design and Build of the building is currently in place with Roland Hill Ltd. The services provided under this contract are for the Design & Construction of an access road that will link the development site with the A590 Ironworks Road. Cumbria is currently undergoing a local government reorganisation and Government has announced that Cumbria County Council is to be replaced by two unitary authorities with effect form 01 April 2023.
