Description
The London Borough of Hackney has awarded a contract to the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) to deliver Community-Based Infant Feeding Peer Support service in Hackney. The service will be an easily accessible, highly publicised and information-led service based on NICE guidelines. It will establish a network of trained, peer supporters (voluntary and paid) to expand and improve infant feeding support, working alongside midwifery, health visiting services, children centres and family hubs (opening dates to be announced further to consultation) to create a flexible, seamless, system-wide pathway of support from conception onwards. The contract is for a period of 2 years commencing on 2nd January 2024 for a sum of £390,000.00.
