Description
The Museum's Lecture Theatre is used by over 75,000 visitors a year and is central to our public programme, as it is used daily for live science shows and lectures. The Science Museum is the most visited museum by booked school groups in the UK and has an international reputation for its excellence in programming for STEM education. The current space looks tired and worn, and extraneous build conceals the original structure and does not make best use of the space available. The current environment is far from an appropriate setting for the important and popular part of the Museum's programme offer it serves. This project aims to significantly improve our visitors' experience in one of our most impactful public spaces. This project forms part of the Museum's Masterplan, which will improve the experience of our visitors for generations to come through well considered and beautiful design.
