Description
The Council is seeking a Service Provider to provide Public Rights of Way Maintenance across the county of West Sussex.\n \n The Future West Sussex Plan outlines the ambitions that the Council is seeking to deliver for the residents of West Sussex. The plan is underpinned by the Council's three core priorities of:\n • giving children the best start in life\n • championing the West Sussex Economy\n • promoting independence in later life.\n \n Public Rights of Way (PRoW) are a valuable resource in achieving these ambitions. The network provides links to services and also into the wider Countryside. The rural nature of the County provides tourism opportunities and the South Downs National Park and Coast attracts visitors to the area. Those who exercise and enjoy time in green spaces have increased wellbeing and this free source of exercise can bring wider health benefits. \n \n The Council has a statutory duty to maintain PRoW for year round use and the Routine Maintenance Contract is a key mechanism in the delivery of the obligation.
