Description

A new, supported information system. These systems will support the transactional process of ship registration, seafarer certification and approved doctor administration. The new system replaces over 30 existing databases and spreadsheets including. Fleet Management System (FMS) used by RSS, Cardiff for ship registration. The resulting database is the UK Ship Register. Seafarer Documentation System (SDS) used by Seafarer Training & Certification Branch for processing applications to the point where a certificate is issued. Approved Doctors Information System (ADIS) used by Seafarer Safety & Health Branch to manage the international network of approved doctors and the paper based ENG1 certificates they have been given. Each service will be available for customers to complete online wherever possible, and be as paper free as allowed under current legislation. This supports the Agencies objective to offer the best possible service to customers of the UK flag.
