Description

*** THIS IS AN AWARD NOTICE, NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION *** This procurement is being concluded following a mini competition under the CCS RM6235 Space Enabling & Geospatial Services DPS Background UKSA are looking to build our understanding of how radar data can complement optical tracking data in Low Earth Orbits, as part of this, we are looking to conduct a trial of pre-existing commercially operated facilities with a proven track record of delivering timely and high-quality data. NSpOC is required to track and understand the risk to UK licensed objects in all orbital regimes, currently there is a capability gap in the LEO regime which degrades the NSpOC ability to provide warning and information services to its customers. Aims and Objectives To determine the benefits of a sovereign owned Space Domain Awareness (SDA) radar asset. Objectives: 1. Access SDA data from a LEO capable radar across multiple months to provide tracking data to the NSpOC 2. Assess the data received against the existing catalogue to investigate if there are discrepancies that the UK may need to address 3. Determine if the UK would benefit from a long term SDA Radar capability
