Description
This tender specially addresses Intervention I only - Numeracy activities, courses or provision developed in partnership with community organisations and other partners aimed at engaging the hardest to reach participants. For a proportion of the East Riding's population traditional learning methods have failed and alternative methods are required to overcome anxieties and to engage individuals in informal learning and progressing them into more structured learning. The focus of the Multiply programme is to ensure that activities are client-centred and learning methods are appropriate and accessible. The learning will build on the existing skills of an individual, increasing their confidence and moving them towards Level 2 capability. Provision will need to be informal and non-accredited utilising everyday activities, such as cooking, DIY, arts and craft, family learning, and sport to attract and engage with learners, whilst embedding numeracy within these activities. Not typically classroom based, and more innovative use of "touch points" such as money advice, community or housing type services. All activities will be delivered within the context of local needs and practical and lived experiences, ensuring learning can be seen as relevant and valuable. Activities will encourage clients to participate in group and independent work with peer learning and support being a key feature. Activities will be provided in a variety of accessible venues across the East Riding, to ensure there are opportunities to participate. in the most rural areas. Multiply funded activities are intended to support clients to move forward confidently in life, work, and further learning. Whilst activities will be intentionally informal to ensure the widening of participation, clients will be encouraged to consider on an individual level what success will look like for them personally. Recording what they hope to achieve, along with the progress and achievements they make, will help to identify their personal success, and build confidence. Interventions should not displace, replace and / or duplicate any existing adult numeracy provision, such as activity funded through the existing Adult Education Budget (AEB) statutory entitlement for maths qualifications. Tenders must be submitted electronically using the Council's Supplier & Contract Management Portal - 'YORtender' at https://yortender.eu-supply.com.
