Description
The Improved Access to Primary Care will deliver access to general practice from 6.30-8pm weekdays and appointments according to local need on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. The overall aim of the Improved Access service is to reduce the number of patients attending A&E as a walk in patient as a result of being unable to get an appointment with their GP practice. The 7 day service will improve access to primary care to meet rising population demands, with additional clinical capacity beyond core hours (as defined by the GMS Contract Regulations (2004). In addition, the service aims to achieve a positive impact upon patient flow in other service areas, including urgent and unplanned care settings, attributable to patients who cite they are 'unable to access' primary care appointments. The Improved Access service shall be provided from sites at recognisable and accessible locations convenient for the local population with transport links and available parking, enabling co-location integration with the related local urgent care services. The service will commence on 1st October 2018. The contract will be for Five years duration. Commissioners reserve the right to extend for up to a further 12 months. The value stated represents the value should the contract be extended for the full 6 year term. The Services to which this ITT relates fall within Chapter 3, Section 7, Particular Procurement Regimes to the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and Part H of the Annex V to the Public Contracts Directive (also known as "light touch regime" formerly Part B services). Neither the publication of the above advertisements, the inclusion of a Bidder selection stage nor the use of the term "Pre-Qualification Questionnaire" or "Invitation to Tender" nor any other indication shall be taken to mean that the Contracting Authority intends to hold itself bound by any of the Regulations, save those applicable to Chapter 3, Section 7, Particular Procurement Regimes.
