Description

The Sexual Health Improvement Service will work with Leeds residents from key populations, communities and vulnerable groups identified as being most at risk of exposure to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The Service will work to improve overarching sexual and reproductive health & wellbeing outcomes for these groups. This will include raising awareness of contraceptive and pregnancy choices, sexual consent and facilitating access to wider health services, as well as promoting, normalising and facilitating access to key HIV prevention initiatives such as PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis) referral, condoms and lubricant and community-based HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing. The Service will take a key role in co-ordinating HIV testing and prevention work across the city, which will include education and training with communities and partners to increase HIV awareness and reduce stigma. In-scope populations include (but are not limited to): Black African communities, men who have sex with men (MSM), transgender people, asylum seekers and refugees, newly migrated communities, and other groups identified through local intelligence.
