Description
The Domestic Abuse advocacy in Health and Sanctuary Scheme (Target Hardening) are part of the Making Safe Scheme projects funded by the DLUHC (formerly MHCLG). From 2019 to 2021 through a direct award to Hart District Council funds have been provided to support these services in Basingstoke Hospital through "The You Trust" under a grant based and service level agreement. HCC's intention is to ensure continuity and stability of the offer of these services using the DLUHC New Burdens Funds and direct award these to "The You Trust" who currently provide these services. The incumbent provider of the main Domestic Abuse Contract "Stop Domestic Abuse" has been commissioned to ensure continuity of the same services for the remaining geographies (Winchester and Andover Hospitals for the Domestic Abuse Advocates and East Hampshire for the Target Hardening Posts). Domestic Abuse Advocates in Health posts have worked closely with staff at all levels to increase and promote recognition and understanding of domestic abuse and the support available, as well as reach out to victims, who may be cautious, reluctant or scared to ensure they are heard, offering independent advice and support.
