Description
The Architect's Registration Board (ARB) is an independent Arm's Length Body (ALB) set up by Parliament and established by the Architects Act 1997 and is the regulator of the architects' profession in the UK. We are funded by fees paid by architects and act in the public interest. ARB's aims are to protect the users and potential users of architects' services, and to support architects through regulation. At the core of these aims is the public expectation that those on the Architects Register will be properly qualified and competent. ARB is undertaking a Review to ensure that architects have the knowledge, skills and competencies required in the 21st Century - 'Review of architect's competence' (the Review). The aim of this Review is to develop a proportionate, effective regulatory model which ensures that only competent architects are eligible to join and remain on the Architects Register and provides assurance and confidence to the public.
