Accredited Public Analyst Services

Under the Food Law Code of Practice, the Council is required to appoint a Public Analyst and Agricultural Analyst for the purposes of analysing samples of Food and Feed as part of the Council's duties under the following legislation.\r \r • Food Safety Act 1990, \r • Food Safety (Sampling and Qualifications) (England) Regulations 2013, \r • Food Safety and Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013\r \r • Agriculture Act 1970, \r • Animal Feed (Hygiene, Sampling etc. and Enforcement) (England) Regulations 2015\r • Fertilisers (Sampling and Analysis) Regulations 1996, \r • EC Fertiliser (England and Wales) Regulations 2006\r \r The successful provder will be responsible for carrying out analysis on samples submitted to them by Durham County Council, interpreting results and providing legal opinion when requested.
