Background. - DfT's Road Investment Strategy (RIS) 3: 2025-30. - £347 million over Roads Period 2 (2020-25) for the development of studies and possible future schemes, including those in the RIS3 pipeline. - National Highways goal: look to the future to find more ways to deliver safer, smoother and more reliable journeys for our customers. - Schemes for the RIS3 pipeline, named in our Delivery Plan - identified with DfT through strategic studies, route strategies and stakeholder engagement - Pipeline mission: to provide a range of options for potential future schemes to enable ministerial decision-making for RIS3. - DfT announced an interim settlement in March 2024 outlining the plans for investment of £4.8bn for FY2025/26.
