Description
Historic England wishes to commission a pilot project to test the feasibility of developing a GIS based database of the different species of trees which make up the treescape and tree features (such as avenues) of registered parks and gardens using desk based sources. The project will appoint consultants to firstly contact owners/part owners of registered sites to find out whether they have tree data records for their site and whether they are willing to share this data with the project and secondly to compile any data made available into a combined and readily accessible database. This database will begin to help identify the treescapes of the registered sites in order to be able to begin to quantify the pest and disease risks. It is anticipated the work will take 8 months.
