CBC-1246-T-CE Derwent Lower School Construction - AWARD

New build two storey KS2 block with 8nr classbases, including ancillary spaces such as SEND, Studio, Food/Science/DT and offices; a 2nr reception classbase extension, an extension to the library into the courtyard, an extension to the existing hall; extensive remodelling and refurbishment to the existing school block and associated external works. Section 1: Construction of a new two storey stand-alone Teaching Block and the Reception Classroom extension (2nr) and associated external works (excluding the car park). Section 2: Construction of the separate Dining Store and Library extensions to the existing school block and the refurbishment of the existing school block and associated external works + the formation of the car park. Procurement route: Open Target contract commencement: Start on Site: o Section 1 1st November 2021 o Section 2 5th July 2022 Note: - There will be a decant period between the completion of Section 1 and the commencement of Section 2 (between 28th June 2022 and 4th July 2022). Contractor to remain on site for this duration and relocate the site set-up as indicated on the Tender drawings. Target contract delivery dates: o Section 1 o 27th June 2022 o Section 2 o 13th September 2022 End of Defects Liability / Rectification Period: o Section 1 27th June 2023 (12 months) o Section 2 13th September 2023 (12 months) Note: - The Client encourages Tenderers to consider earlier completion dates and comment on the viability (specifically, earlier completion of Section 1 so the school could occupy the new standalone block earlier). Tenderers' to provide a supporting commentary with their programme.
